Over one weekend in November, the event will explore the many elements that go into being a maker today – from hands-on craft workshops and business development sessions in Roco’s makerspace, to a craft fair featuring more than 40 designers and makers in the BL_NK SPACE gallery. After hours we will turn up the volume for a social- come-party, where makers can mingle and enjoy DJs and festive feel-good times.
We are excited to be travelling North to the home of folksy.com, lured by Sheffield’s reputation as a city of makers (boasting more artists per square foot than any other city outside London), and by the beautifully refurbished row of Georgian houses that give the Roco its name.
The Weekend of the Maker will showcase skilled makers currently working across Britain, uncover new talent, celebrate old talent, and give people the opportunity to try new craft and design techniques. This is an event designed for people who love making, brought to you by people who are passionate about craftsmanship in all its forms.
You can read lots more about what to expect at the event on the Folksy Blog now!
Trader applications are now open until 7th September and you can apply here.
